family members not in same itunes store country...

I can't update my 7 year old Mac (first time this has happened since last update in June ..has Apple changed the terms & conds?) When given it as a gift, I shared itunes account with my UK family to get Pages etc. I used their Apple ID.

Today I tried to update computer and was told that I can't use relative's Apple ID as they are in UK and I am in France. I can't use my Apple ID because I didn't buy the computer, my family in the UK paid for it and had it sent from Apple France.

What can I do?
