12 inch Macbook usb not working

I have a 2015 12 inch macbook. Its the one with only one usb type-c port. This port works for charging and hdmi, but i cant get it to work with any usb device. I know its not a problem with the adapter I'm using because it works on a different macbook.

Resetting SMC as well as NVRAM could solve the problem.
