Security of ipad / apple Pages on unsecured net...

Im worried about the security of my ipad over an unsecured coffee shop (cafe nero) network.... specifically about documents i hold in Apple Pages being accessed remotely.... i had Bluetooth on and i was logged into the network which has started to prompt me for repeated sign-in's, and i was working in Apple Pages.... the ipad went very warm/hot and the battery drained much quicker than usual over 1 hour.... i didnt have any other apps running and i wasnt surfing with Safari, although i was connected.... i basically want to know if an ipad can be hacked remotely and data on Pages copied without the document time and dates changing etc.... im not too worried about web browsing being viewed, just the idea that content can be copied surreptitiously from Pages. I dont have Pages linked to icloud so it shouldnt have been sending updates over the network.

Can someone help me with :

A) ipad CONTENT security as opposed to website browsing privacy regarding remote hacking

And

B) would there be a 'trail' (i.e. Pages documents updating their time and date to the moment of it being copied) if i had been hacked remotely

C) the dangers (or not) of leaving Blue Tooth on - im still not clear how much of a route for hackers this is unless you click file share when a request comes through

Please advise

Many thanks

James
