I cannot log into Macbook Pro

I have a 2011 Macbook Pro. I have never had an issue logging in until now. The week prior to this I had been having issues with the computer forcing me to restart every so often. It has become much worse: now every time I try logging in, the Macbook would attempt to log me in but then the screen would turn blue and send me back to the log in screen. It is impossible to enter my account now. I am force to use another account until I can figure out how to log in to my main account. I really need that account as it has most of my data. Is there any way to solve this?

Have you tried a PRAM reset I had this after updating OSX and this helped

Hold down command+alt+p+r and turn the MacBook on hold them until around three restarts.

I tried it. The problem did not go away.
