New SSD

I have a new samsung evo ssd that works via usb but won't run internally. I know its not my SATA Connection because it will run my old hdd but very slowly because its failing. Any ideas?

This comes up too often with EVOs. I'm not sure why. They work fine for some people, not for others. Some have had success with replacing the HD cable, even if it works with the old HD. That's what I would try.

What model MacBook Pro do you have?

It sounds like your problem may be the SATA cable. The SSD is much more sensitive to a bad SATA cable and sometimes the HDD will work but the SSD will not.
