My MacBook Pro 2016 has an annoying speaker dis...

Hi,

I just made the switch to macOS (I had previously used Windows) with the 2016 MacBook Pro. I ordered it less than a month ago from Apple's refurbished store, and it came in perfect condition.

However, a few days ago I noticed that the left speaker has a slight distortion at a certain frequency. I never play the speakers at full volume and I am extremely meticulous about the care I give my MacBook Pro (I'm the kind of person who keeps the tissue lining and always puts it over the keyboard when I close the screen). I only noticed the sound because my husband and I were watching the show Westworld, and every time a character's voice hit a certain frequency there was a slight buzzing distortion. It happens at any volume but is more noticeable at the higher volumes. It annoys the heck out of me and I know it wasn't doing this before. It's only in the left speaker; the right speaker sounds beautiful.

Since I'm new to MBP, can someone tell me if there is something I should be doing about this? I'm pretty stressed about it because the MBP was so expensive. We have an Apple Store here but it's kind of a hassle to visit since it's downtown. I'm also not sure if they could even hear the distortion since the store can be pretty loud.

Thank you very much.
