Time Machine folders show in Trash?

Every time I do a backup in "Time Machine" there are lots of Backup folders showing in the Trash Basket on my Mac. Why is this?. I am using a "Lacie 1TB backup disc and it has plenty of spare space on it. Once the backup has finished and I eject the drive they disappear. Anyone got any ideas

Hi,

Have you tried emptying the trash and seeing if they're gone for good the next time you mount the disk?

Hi,

NO, I did try and delete one of them once but it was taking such a long time, I "chickened out" and stopped the delete.

I didn't know if by deleting them it might compromise the information saved on the disc?.

Also forgot to mention, the trash folder shows the latest backup either being done or failed.

I have no way of knowing if it will affect the backup or not, but they're in the trash where they're not supposed to be....

If everything is working as it's supposed to besides that, and it doesn't bother you enough to do something about it, I would just leave it alone. Otherwise empty the trash, and worst case scenario is you have to start a new backup.

And what does the TM folder and/or the backup when you enter TM show regarding those?
