Two factor authentication – what is ...
I use 2FA on my banking app very successfully so I know what is supposed to happen. Apple's version of it seems crazy to me. When I sign in to iCloud on my Mac, an alert pops up saying that someone is trying to access my account along with a map (the location is often waaaay out). I then OK it and wait for the authentication code. To my way of thinking this should come up on one of my other devices, e.g. my iPhone. But no, the code appears on all my devices including the Mac that is trying to access iCloud. What is the point of that? If the Mac were stolen, the thief could access my iCloud account even with 2FA turned on! Is there something in the 2FA settings that I have overlooked?
