No display zoom on iPad Pro 12.9

Why is there no display zoom (located in settings, Dispay & Brightness) on the iPad Pro 12.9-inch (2nd generation) when the 1st generation had it?

Hello Amsterdamage,

Thanks for that info and choosing the Apple Support Communities. If I understand correctly, you are unable to enable display zoom. If you haven't already, restart your iPad Pro as iOS clears cached data and does other system optimizations when you turn your device off and on.

If your issue still isn't resolved, your next step is to reinstall iOS on your device; this will help us isolate the situation further. Reinstalling iOS should not affect any of your data, but it is always a best practice to make sure you have a current backup in either iTunes or iCloud.

Once you have a current backup, follow the steps from the "If your device turns on but gets stuck during start up" section in this article:

Use the “Update” option and not “Restore” and these steps will reinstall iOS. Keep in mind that these steps were written for a different issue, but they will still help us isolate the situation further. Cheers!

Greetings,

Unfortunately, both the restart and update did not fix the problem.  Is it possible that the display zoom was removed for new iPad Pros?  Don't want have to try a full DFU as I'm afraid it's just going to be a waste of time based on doing that for a brightness issue I'm having with the IPhone 7+.  The screen goes dim.  I found online that switching the display zoom to zoom and then back again temporarily fixes the problem. I even had the phone swapped out to no avail.  I'm hoping the next version of iOS resolves both the iPad and iPhone issues for me.  I even sent an email to ****** a few days ago, but have not received a response as of yet.  Thanks for responding and make it a great day!  Not that you needed this, but here's a pic of iPad screen.

Thanks for replying, Amsterdamage, and that additional info, it really helps! Your next step is to use iTunes on your Mac or PC to backup and restore your iOS software to factory settings, as this process erases the information and settings on your device and installs a fresh copy of the latest iOS software. Temporarily setup your phone as new to test your issues, and then restore your backup and test the issues again.

Have a great day and thanks for using the Apple Support Communities!

I have a new IPad Pro  12.9 2ed Gen and am having to same problem, in display settings the view zoomed display button for a larger, text and keyboard is missing. Can someone start a support ticket for this problem.

I have a new gen 2 ipad pro 12.9".  There is a Zoom button in Settings>Accessibility.

Yes, have the same issue. Appears to be a hardware problem with second generation iPad. Have had apole products for 25 years never returned a single one. This may be the first if can't be resolved. Sad for people with eyesight disabilities.

Thanks but that doesn't help. What's missing is the Display Standard or Zoom option. Its missing on the new iPad.

Greetings,

That did not work.  Setting up as new produced the same results.  What I would like to see now is a 2nd generation 12.9" iPad Pro showing display zoom.  I'm willing to bet that if I went to a store and checked a demo product, I would not see display zoom on it either.    Please prove me wrong.

Thanks and care.

We appreciating you trying those steps, Amsterdamage. Since your issue with Display Zoom still isn't resolved after you restored and setup your iPad Pro as new, your next step is to contact Apple for further help with this issue.

Contact Apple Support

Best regards and have a wonderful day!

FWIW. I contacted Apple Support about this same issue. They were not aware of the problem and every attempt at a solution was unsuccessful. I have a call with escalated Apple support this afternoon ... but fear this is a hardware problem with the new iPad. If they can't resolve I will have to return my new one (first time in 25 years with an Apple product!) and just reactivate my old one (which I was going to pass along to my wife). Sad.

Yes, very sad.  I'm still hoping it's a software issue that can be addressed with the next ios update.  Man that was a big waste of time with all the restores and what not.  I wish I could get compensated for all the time I spent on this issue.  Sorry for being so negative (that's for the people who tried to help).  Just frustrated...

As of yesterday still no resolution from apple experts except maybe wait for future release

Thanks for the update!  Nothing to report on my end as I gave up.  We'll see what happens with the next update.

Under accessibility.  Turn on zoom,  it will put a module on screen that you can zoom in a window,  Full screen and other settings.IMG_0661.JPGIMG_0657.PNGIMG_0660.PNG
