Error 3503 on iPod generation 5

I downloaded the new update this weekend on our laptop for my iPod and the update began and said I need to restore. Now when I hit restore it then says restore and update and once I do that it “extracts software” once it finishes a box pops up says error 3503 and I can’t do anything. My iPod is now stuck on a black screen with the cord and iTunes icon. 

I have the latest download of iTunes, I have uninstalled it and reinstalled it. I am not sure what to do and now my music is stuck in limbo. I can not back it up or restore it or even use my iPod, I can **** it off and back in but goes to the same screen and I cannot do anything on the laptop but the only two options if restore or update which both lead me to the same outcome. 

Please help.
