MRT agent in macOS Sierra consumes a lot of RAM...
I run an iMac of 2011 with macOS Sierra 10.12.6 and 8 GB of RAM
The hard drive of 1 To is full at 90%
Since lastest updates of macOS it is very slow
There is a process name "MRT" that consumes a lot of memory (sometimes more than the 8 GB)
I've seen in from this agent of macOS is a malware search tools
Is it possible to disable this agent/daemon so that is consumes no more the memory ?
Apple released MRT v1.22 yesterday to address this problem. It should resolve itself within 24 hours if your computer is awake at the random time it uses to do background updates.
