Resetting SMC/NVRAM & PRAM or No MacbBook

I have a late 2011 MacBook Pro running macos Sierra. I was beta testing and when I installed the beta of sierra I noticed funny things happening with my MacBook. Id try to start it and the screen would have lines through the Apple and the rest of the screen. Sometimes it hangs, sometimes it starts on it's own and most of the time it boots to a grey screen and will sit for hours. The only way to get my MacBook working is to reset the SMC and then boot it up and reset the NVRAM/PRAM and even then the lines and the display flickers. I have spoken to people and am even replacing a hard drive in a friends MacBook exact model and his is doing the same thing, hence changing the hard drive. 2 years ago I upgraded to 8gb of RAM and not Apple memory, but that's not the issue. I ran the hardware diagnostic by holding D at startup and it has to connect tp the internet and I run it and let it sit 48 hours and it sat with a centimeter left to go in the status bar. Disk utility says everythings fine with the disk, I'm on a freshly installed version of Sierra. Any advice is helpful as I have a MacBook pro I can part out as all that's wrong with it is the display got smashed and I bought it for 40 bucks in case I need anything from it. Thanks for taking the time to read this. If you have a good response please email me at *********. I also run SMC fan controller so I can control the fans and I notice it gets hotter much easier,
