Problem with connecting iPhone and iPad to 2015...

Basically, when I connect either my iPhone or iPad to my 2015 MacBook Pro via. USB, it can't stay connected. It constantly blinks between being connected and being disconnected. It can't stay connected for more than half a second. When I connect an external hard drive to the same USB ports, there is no problem with the connection.

When I connect the iPad or iPhone to the wall, it stays connected, it only fluctuates between being connected and disconnected when connected to my MacBook Pro. Anyone else experienced this issue?
