Selecting downloaded song redirects to apple mu...

iPhone 6. iOS 11 . I don't have an Apple Music Subscription. Apple Music isn't even enabled on my iPhone. When I go to play a song that I have downloaded onto my iPhone from iTunes, it redirects me to sign up for Apple Music. I can select 'Not Now' which brings me back to the album track list. When I go to select that same track, the redirect occurs again. I can play the song after or before the particular song and skip back/forward to it and it will play. This is the only song I've run into so far having this issue. The song does have one of those 'stars' next to it, but I can select other songs on this record with 'stars' and they will play without a redirect.

What gives?
