Is 2013 Macbook Air SSD Compatible with 2015 Ma...

I have a 2013 Macbook air that has water damage. I want to recover the data from the SSD, but I have no adapter to do so, nor can I find one. I also happen to have a 2015 Macbook Pro. Can I just plug the SSD into the Pro? Or are they compatible?

Assuming that the MBA SSD is functional, you can put it in an enclosure such as this and retrieve data from it via the MBP:

Ciao.

Can I open up the MBP and put the SSD directly in there, then boot from it? Or boot from a live USB and pull the data to an external drive? I'm wondering if the pins of the SSD in the air are compatible with the ones on MBP.

I do not know if the form factors for that MBA and the MBP SSDS are identical.  If not, my prior recommendation addresses the problem.  If they are the same, then the OSX on the MBA SSD must be the same or newer than the OSX that originally came with the MBP

Ciao.

Hi,

I am having the same issue. Could you confirm that is it possible to take a 2013 MacBook air ssd and use it on a 2015 MacBook pro?

Thanks,

C
