Reset to factory settings without losing all data

Hi all,

For some reason on my son's iPad I am unable to get into the restrictions settings.  I haven't changed the password, yet I am completely blocked out. I was told to reset the iPad and then use the backup to restore all data, however the backups also included the restrictions block, therefore rendering that useless.

Is there any way that I can select the app data that he wants to save (i.e. game levels, photos, music, Garage Band tracks and school docs) before resetting it to factory settings?

This is really bugging me!! Any suggestions?

Sorry, but no there is no way. The only way to reset a forgotten restrictions passcode is to restore the device as new. And any backup made while using that passcode will restore the passcode along with everything else.
