That's good. Try an SMC reset:

Reset the System Management Controller (SMC) on your Mac - Apple Support

While in Disk Utility erase the HD and ensure the format is Mac OS Extended (Journaled). Then Quit Disk Utility and Reinstall Mac OS and follow the on screen directions. If Mac OS will not install on the HD then the HD is likely damaged and must be replaced.

If you still run into trouble make an appointment at your local Apple Store and take it in . They will be able to help.  You can also call AppleCare however you may be charged for the call. Don't be afraid to call if there is a charge, it may save you a LOT of time and hassle.
