Mac Contact contents gone.

I've lost all content in my Mac Contacts . . . still have all contacts on iPhone, iPad and iCloud.  Apple Sr. Advisor says it must be conflict with another app on Mac.  I've uninstalled several -- no luck.  However, when I write email, the proper address (stored in Contacts) pops up.  The data file for Contacts is somewhere on my iMac.  I am running an updated Sierra OS and have plenty of space on my Mac.  Any ideas?

Open iCloud pane in System Preferences and sign out of iCloud. Restart the computer and sign back into iCloud. Enable all services you were using including Contacts.

That should replace any corrupt iCloud databases.

Contacts disappeared after iCloud setup

Glenn . . . Thanks for your input about restoring content to my iMac's Contact app.  I did all you suggested and still my Contacts (only on my iMac) app is without any content.  Friday and Monday I spent a couple of hours in a chat with Brandon, Sr. Advisor at Apple and did all he said.  Same result.

It seems the data file (is it CSV?) for my Contact app still resides on my Mac; email addresses immediately appear when only partially typed.

When I signed out of iCloud I chose to download that 54 gig file to be archived on my computer -- it took more than five hours.  Is it of any use now, or can I just dump it.  Later I tried the 'sign out/sign in'  process w/o downloading that file, but still no luck with Contact content when I signed back into iCloud.

Where do I now turn?

Thanks for  your support.

Exactly what file did you download that was 54 gig? No way that was contacts.

Are you sure you are signing into iCloud with the same id as the other computers?

Are you running any anti-virus apps or cleaning apps on the computer?

If you manually add a contact, does it show up in the application?
