quickest way to import huge itunes library?

Hi

Anyone know what would be the quickest way to import my entire 6,000-song library from my iMac to Macbook?

I am now just starting the home sharing method, but so far it has taken a whole hour to import 30 songs!

Should i cancel it and do it via my macs' file sharing by dragging them all instead?

Or is it best to zip to flashdrive and drag them into iTunes automatically add folder?

Or...?
