Image Capture crashes when deleting pics from i...

Often, before syncing my iPhone 7 + running iOS 11 with Photos on my laptop, I will go through my photo album on the phone with Image Capture and delete duplicates etc before I do my sync. Saves a lot of junk being grabbed.

However the past few months, every time I select either an individual picture, or group of them and delete them, it deletes the pics one by one, then I assume right before a refresh, the Image Capture app crashes and I get a crash report. Every time.

Have deleted p.list file, rebooted and it has made no difference. Surely I'm not alone in this bug?
