Hey Guys,

I am using my iMac for Video editing and I also have a Laptop. I want to run the iMac system on the iMac and use the Laptop as a second monitor, but at the moment I can't seem to do that. When I plug the display cable into both the computers, the laptop background shows up with apps or system preferences or whatever. The iMac is a 2009 model that is running OS X Sierra and the laptop is a 2014 MacBook Air running OS X Yosemite.

So my Question is: How I can use the iMac as the main computer with all the apps and things on it, and use the laptop as a monitor for video playback or other things.
