Heart rate data not recording

Hello! I have an Apple Watch series 2 and I also own a Garmin Forerunner 935. I wear both on my runs but only use my FR 935 to track the activity. I use the Apple Watch just for messaging and emails, not for tracking activities. Heart rate recording IS enabled on the Apple Watch and the data is visible in the Health app.

I noticed, however, in the Health app that heart rate data is completely missing during the time of my runs.

So it looks like both FR 935 (which also has a wrist based heart rate monitor) and the Apple Watch are not recording heart data during this time. I only see heart rate data before and after my runs. As for the Garmin, it records my heart rate during the run, but doesn't write it to the Heath app, even though it is enabled to write as a data source.

Has anyone else seen this issue before and know how to resolve it?
