Please help! I earased my macbook pro mid 2009 ...

I recently erased my mid 2009 MacBook pro, from the disk utilities (holding control + R or something). I erased it in the format 'mac os Extended' and waited it for to erase. I assumed that the hard disk will simply erase all the details and files and the system will start as new, but after erasing the startup disk was no where to be found (where it says "choose startup disk" "select the system you want to use to start up your disk")

The "reinstall OS X" Opinion in OS X utilities says "An error occurred while preparing the installation. Try running this application again"

I have not made a backup to "restore form time machine backup option" in OS X Utilities.

I can't partition the disk  setting it to GUID partition scheme, it shows "partition failed with the error: Couldn't unmount disk"

I am seemed to stuck in the disk utilities area. I can access anywhere else.

I don't have a vast knowledge about these.

What can I do to bring it back to normal? (I don't need any of my personal files and details in it).

Please help!
