Apple disk image media is damaged

I wanted to clear my 2009 imac to sell it.

after I formatted the c drive, and i proceeded to reinstall, i got the message that it could not reinstall.

after starting diskutikity, it turns out that 'apple disk image media', with os x install esd on it, is damaged.

What can i do to solve this problem?
