Emails sent do not appear in "Sent Box" or reci...

My sister-in-law's email account is Hotmail and she uses an Apple Ipad 4, 10:3:3 only, no other laptop or computer..  She receives emails okay, she sends emails okay and she can delete emails okay.  The problem lies in the fact that any emails she sends do not  appear in SENT box, it is empty?

 

I got her to go into Settings, Mail, Account and then Advanced.  The only entry there are Deleted Mailbox and Archive Mailbox, definitely no Sent Mailbox.  From reading on the web it would appear to be something to do with Hotmail.

 

Is there anything we can do about this.  She lives on the island of Sark, The Channel Islands so very much long distance from me and we are trying to sort this out via the telephone.

 

She doesn't send many emails but would like to have reminders of what she actually sent. Our memories are not what they used to be!


1. Operating system IOS 10.3.3

2. Web browser, safari

3. Email Hotmail

4. Internet connection, no issues - good

5. Connected WIFI Home

6. No error messages

7. Sent by myself and received, no issue

8. Been into settings/mail/accounts/advanced.  Only boxes shown are Deleted mailbox and Archive Mailbox

9. No emails appear to go to outbox.

 

the mailboxes she has are

Inbox - no issue

Vip - nothing in

Unread - nothing in

Today - 1 I sent and she replied to that?

Draft - 3 old ones

Sent - absolutely nothing - that is the issue

Junk - 1

Trash - nothing

Archive - nothing

 

she can only appear to reply to emails. But if she compiles and sends fresh they go nowhere and disappear!  She sent one to me today but i have not received it and it has disappeared from her Ipad?


I read on Internet that it could be a problem with Hotmail account but Microsoft, I regret, have failed to find a solution.  Fingers crossed Apple can help. Thank you.
