Hi buddies

Can I use my old 60w and 85w chargers in my new macbook Pro of 13 inches?

My new mac book pro comes with a 61w charger.

best regards

javier

This is a list of what Apple recommends Find the right power adapter and cable for your Mac notebook - Apple Support.

The article states:

You can use a compatible higher wattage adapter without issue, but it won't make your computer charge faster or operate differently. Lower wattage adapters don't provide enough power.

Hi,

If you have a new 2016 or 2017 MBP, and your older ones use MagSafe or MagSafe 2 power adapters, the wattages don't even matter, because the physical connections will not match.

At this writing there is no Apple-recommended converter from MagSafe or MagSafe-2 to USB-C. So even if you could physically connect them, or buy a 'Joe's garage shop' converter, it is not prudent to do so.
