Column browser became useless

I was unpleasantly surprised that without my explicit confirmation, the new iTunes was installed in the background on my iMac. Almost feels like burglary to me...

One of te changes is the column browser, which I highly rely on in my usage. For all views this now contains only 3 lines of text. You can drag it larger, but when changing views and coming back, it is reset to 3 lines of text again. Is this really the use case Apple has in mind? This makes the column browser absolutely useless. I've reported the issue under feedback as well (where you cannot select the newest iTunes release...).
