iTunes playlist on iMac does not match playlist...

I have created a hockey playlist in iTunes on my iMac where I edit the start and stop times of some songs so I don't have to wait through long intros. Recently this same playlist on my iPhone 5 will not recognize the edited songs and instead plays the song in full. How can I get the edited playlist from my library on my Mac to be the same on my iPhone? You used to be able to drop and drag playlists/songs etc. and this doesn't seem to be as easy anymore.  Suggestions?? Thanks!
