Keyboard keeps disappearing

This is incredibly frustrating, but the virtual keyboard oftentimes doesn't appear when attempting to write an email or type in a web address. I've had to power off at least ten times and re-start to get the keyboard to appear. If I select the URL of whatever site happens to be open, the keyboard is supposed to then appear so I can type in an alternative address. Instead, the screen develops a grey mask with no keyboard present. I have to turn the **** thing off completely, it loses my history and then I have to start again.
Yes I keep having the same issue! The only thing I can link it to is when my blue tooth keyboard is in range it will not open the virtual one. If you go into settings and turn off your blue tooth it will pop up again.

So how do I get the keyboard to reappear?  What do I do if I do not have a blue tooth key board in the vicinity?

Same happens to me. I ended up erasing all my data, re-installing from backup just to get the same problem again. It is frustrating, reason I was looking for a solution now for this problem and don't seem to find any.
