Apple Watch & media controller for iPhone

Hi - Just updated to the new Watch os4 and iOS 11. Now my apple watch keeps defaulting to show the controller for media (Music / Spotify / YouTube) which ever is open on my iPhone, even if I'm not using the player.  Anyone know how to stop this from happening? It's more than a little frustrating!

Yes:

• On your iPhone, in the Watch app, go to: My Watch (tab) > General > Wake Screen > turn off Auto-Launch Audio Apps.
