Yosemite sharing extension not working with mail

Having upgraded to Yosemite and followed the upgrades to 10.10.3 I have not been able to share on Photos or Safari anything via mail . When I go to Extensions in the system Preferences there appears a chrome icon with a

greyed out checkbox next to the Mail extension. I would have expected to see Mac Mail icon.

does anyone have the same issue and has anyone resolved this issue? if so, please let

me know how?

From the Mail menu bar, select

          Mail ▹ Preferences... ▹ General ▹ Default email reader: Mail

unfortunately I had tried this before posting on here. Then trying it again doesn't work.

i have been able to get some sharing extensions working including Facebook, but email (Mac Mail) is not working in isolation. I wondered if it was as I used GPG encrypted email which was not compatibile with Yosemite but removed this and still is not working.

ANy other ideas welcomed,

Please post a screenshot that shows what you mean. Be careful not to include any private information.

These are a couple of screenshots which show the Mail in Extensions as a Chrome Icon, and when in Photos on 10.10.3 the menu doesn't show the Mail option in Sharing.

this was my problem, and Opera took control of the email reader preference. Switched it back and everything is normal. Thanks!
