Trouble with opening MAIL and receiving emails

Worked fine this morning, then around mid-day I was unable to retrieve any emails from my respective servers. Have been in touch with providers, re-entered my settings in Preferences a few times, no luck. Noticed when re-booking 3 or 4 times that MAIL takes a while to activate, gotta be a connection. Any suggestions?

Running El Capitan 10.11.6  Mail version 9.3
