Keychain issues

I use a MacBook Pro daily and run Yosemite 10.10.5. 

Recently I was doing a routine restart on my computer and I immediately had Keychain issues during restart.  Somehow my login password had changed in Keychain and I couldn't login.  I used Google to get into my computer and create a new "login" tab in Keychain and not use the old one that somehow had it's password changed.  Everything is working better, but now my browsers will not remember any of my passwords.  I've granted access to let Chrome save my passwords, but it refuses.  How did my login password suddenly change? I had never heard of Keychain before these issues.  Did someone hack my keychain?  I've changed my iCloud password multiple times.
