Altering Standby Time
I am running a mid-2015 MacBook Pro 15" with 16gb Ram and Sierra 10.12.6. Running from this I have three Samsung 32" Curved monitors. The machine is only used as a desktop, so is always plugged into power.
My issue is after it enters standby it can take up to a minute to wake and be useable. After searching I see there is a suggestion you can reset the standby time out to 24 hours to stop this happening.
(sudo pmset -a standbydelay 86400)
My question is what are the risks of doing this? Can it adversely affect the life of the computer? Any advice appreciated.
The reason I tend to use sleep and standby, rather than shutdown is when I restart the computer it fails to remember the settings for the middle screen. So you have to go in and reset every time you start up, which is even slower.
