Camera turns on green light, blank image

I have been having trouble with my camera for the last couple of weeks. Originally, apps like Webex would report that it was having troubles with my camera. I followed steps in the iSight article and other sites (reboot, reset nvram, reset SMC). What is happening now is that if I open an app that uses the camera such as Webex or Photo Booth, the green light comes on, but no image is displayed (blank or black). After 8-10 seconds, the green light goes off.

I also tried the killall sudo killall VDCAssistant that I found, though this did not work either (expected, since I've already done reboots.
