External monitor

Hi,

I have a macbook air 13 inch, early 2015 running macos sierra 10.12.6 and I am trying to extend my desktop on a second monitor (Proview). I have tried to connect them using a thunderbolt to vga adapter however I keep getting no signal and the Arrangement tab won't appear in Display. I have already tried the instructions from this page - Get help with video issues on external displays connected to your Mac - Apple Support .

I have also tried tips and tricks from other users such as resetting PRAM and SMC. Sleeping and waking the mac. Reseating the cables.

The monitor and adapter works on my sister's macbook air that's running yosemite.

Hi, Jkylk91,

Thanks so much for reaching out via the Apple Support Communities. From your post, I understand that your external monitor is not working with your MacBook Air, even though it does work with another MacBook Air, even after troubleshooting. I'm happy to help find a solution!

You mention going through the steps in the article Get help with video issues on external displays connected to your Mac - Apple Support. That's fantastic! This is the exact article you should have used. Since the issue is still ongoing, though, the next thing to do is get in touch with Apple Support directly or additional assistance. You can do that here: Contact Apple Support.

Have a great day!
