iMac late 2009 gigabit ethernet problem

Hi,

I read other posts about this problem/topic, but I couldn't find a solution. My ISP is giving me 1000 net, but on the speedtest it doesn't go above 100. I changed my ethernet manually to 1000baseT, but then said cable is not found or not good. The cable is brand new from ISP guy, cat5(e).

How can I fix this problem. Also I would like to use internet via wi-fi router (gigbait router), but will the Airport Extreme card (Supported PHY Modes: 802.11 a/b/g/n) handle speed above 100?

Thanks a lot for any help, advice. I am struggling....:(

Based on your images that you provided, your Ethernet connection between your iMac and the network gateway or modem does not support a Gigabit Full-duplex connection.

What is the make & model of the gateway or modem that you have your iMac directly connected to by Ethernet?

Hi Tesserax,

I have no idea, my ISP has a big box in the house and from that box the cables are going to each apartment. So the cable which comes directly out of my wall is connected to my iMac through the CAT cable. No router or modem is between them at the moment. The ISP gives the Giganet, I pay for 1000 not 100 so I'm sure it can give 1000.
