Caps-lock is way too dim on my newest MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015), version 10.12.6 (16G29), 2.8 GHz Intel Core i7.

See Adjust the brightness of your backlit keyboard - Apple Support. If there a issue with the backlit go to an Apple location have the device inspected.
