Why does my iPad say my software is up to date ...

Why does my iPad say my software is up to date when I try to update from iOS 9.3.5? There is no option to upgrade to iOS 11. My Model No. is MC769LL/A.

iOS 11 is 64-bit only, and the iPad 2 you have can only run 32-bit software.  Like it or not, you'll need a newer iPad to upgrade past iOS 9.

You have an ipad 2 and it’s not eligible to get iOS 11 (in fact it couldn’t get iOS10)

It’s as updated as it can be.
