Answering calls in shower Apple Watch 2

Can I answer calls on my Apple Watch Series 2, when in shower?

Hi

Apple advises that Apple Watch Series 2 can be worn when showering, but you may find that it is not practical to use it for answering calls.

Keep in mind that Apple recommends not exposing your Apple Watch to soaps, shampoos, conditioners, lotions or perfumes, because they can negatively affect the watch's water seals and acoustic membranes. Apple Watch should be cleaned with fresh water and dried with a lint free-cloth if it comes in contact with anything other than fresh water.

Also be sure to avoid exposing your Apple Watch to high velocity water, in accordance with Apple's handling instructions (see the support article linked below).

You may find that it is not practical to use your Apple Watch for calls, due to water in the speaker and microphone ports. Water contact may also result in lack of normal responsiveness to touch and/or accidental screen interactions.

If you plan to get Apple Watch Series 2 wet under other circumstances than a swimming workout (such as when showering), then you can manually turn on Water Lock first and then turn it off again afterwards. Water Lock prevents accidental screen interactions during exposure to water and also expels any water from the speaker afterwards:

• Swipe up from the bottom of the watch face to open Control Center > tap on Water Lock to lock the screen.
• When finished: turn the Digital Crown to unlock the screen and to clear water from the speaker.

If your Apple Watch is exposed to water accidentally at any time or if you forget to enable it before planned exposure to water, then Water Lock can be enabled afterwards and then immediately turned off again to expel any water from inside the speaker (by following the same steps as above).

Note also that leather and stainless steel bands are not water resistant.
