iTunes album view very slow

I'm running iTunes 12.5.4.42 on a late 2016 MacBook Pro 15".

I have a fairly small music library (~5 Gb).

When I'm browsing the album view and click on an album cover to reveal the song list the animation is very slow and laggy. It's very annoying.

What may be the problem? Why is a standard application running so bad on the latest hardware?

Odd. Can't think why. I'm on the latest iTunes with a 2011 iMac with music library of 120GB+ and no slowness at all

One thing that I noticed, it works smooth if I switch to a 1024x640 scaled resolution.

I have exactly the same problem with iTunes. I have the baseline model MacBook Pro 15' 2016. Opening an album seems to b extremely difficult for the Mac. Same for scrolling.

But I noticed that the entire computer is extremely laggy with animations. Things like Mission Control and Launchpad are sluggish as well.

I brought it back to the Apple Store. We did a clean install but it didn't fix anything. May be a hardware problem or macOS not optimised for those new machines...?

same here with the top specs MBP 15" 2016. very disappointing indeed....

even when opening the applications folder in the dock, it is sluggish. much faster if the video card is activated

I also have this problem: all iTunes animation are slow and irregular (open an album hide/show sidebar...). I'm on a late 2015 iMac 4k. 21,5"). In my late 2006 Mac Pro iTunes runs perfectly!.

Are there any solutions?
