External displays works in macOS Recovery Mode,...

When I run my MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Mid 2014, macOS Sierra Version 10.12.6 (16G29)) normally, my external displays don't work. It's strange because I had it working days before, but now it doesn't appear to work at all. I've tried everything that that this article says to do, but it doesn't seem to be working too.

However, when I booted my MacBook Pro to macOS Recovery Mode, my external display worked! That's very strange.

Here are some more details:

• My roommate has the same exact MacBook Pro model that I have, but the displays seem to be working fine for him.
• I've tried all of the ports (Mini Displayport, HDMI) and none of them appear to be working for me (except when the laptop is running in macOS Recovery Mode).
• Days before, the HDMI port was working fine. I didn't do anything significant between that time and now.
