How do you recall a sent email on the computer

Can anyone tell me how to recall emails on an apple computer?    PLEEZE

The only email you can "recall" is ones sent within an isolated email server such as Exchange Server. There is no method of recalling an email sent out to the internet. The speed of delivery would make any method superfluous. Even if you decided immediately after sending that you wanted to recall, the message was likely already delivered.

The only time I ever remember it being functional in Exchange was when networks were slow as molasses.

You can't recall a sent email on any computer. Once it's sent, it's sent.

You can retrieve e-mails if they are sent via a G-mail account.

Please explain. I see nothing in the Gmail interface to do that.

I would imagine if it was completely internal to Gmail, they could possibly retrieve an email if it hadn't already been read. There was nothing available in the Gmail web portal to recall a message that I sent to a non-Gmail account.
