how do i turn OFF directory and file attributes...

I have a thumb drive used by a dashcam. It turned "read only on" for the directory and files. So the question how do i turn off the rear only fro a  file/directory attribute.

I found some in on using the terminal progam to make the change. But I am not sure how to direct the function to the thumb drive i.e. change directories (CD) command.

I am very familiar with PC, but not mac, so syntax and what functions do the job are  my real problems
