audiobook help

Hi

I recently bought an audiobook from the iTunes store and it downloaded with no issues onto my PC. It plays fine from here, but when synced with my ipod, the narrative is distorted. I have tried changing he speed on my ipod. My iTunes is up to date and I have more than enough storage on my ipod. Tried to delete and restore, but no luck. Any ideas?
