How to make a song a single?

So I imported some songs I got to iTunes and I want to classify them as a single. Right now when just leaving the album box blank it says "Unknown album" and also combind's the artwork from several singles of the same artist when in the "Up next" tab.
So how would I classify a song as a single to avoid this issue? [Windows 10]
