How do I manage apps on my devices now that iTu...

So I get it that Apple wants to simplify iTunes on the desktop. You're supposed to manage your iOS devices on the device itself.

But the interaction on the device is very inconvenient for this sort of thing. Removing apps from my iPad is an easy thing to do. But putting them back on is a pain in the butt without the help of the iTunes app.

What solutions have people come up with to replace the functionality stripped out by the 12.7 update?
