Does installing a 3rd

I have a MB Pro, early 2015, 16GB  + 500GB ssd. In 2016 I replaced the 500 Apple SSD with an OWC 1TB ssd (an apple-certified part). When the isight camera died this month, I sent the laptop in for repair. The repair depot decided that, since there was a non-apple drive installed, the Applecare warranty is now (entirely) void. Two questions: 1. Is this true? 2. If so, where in the Applecare warranty (which specific paragraph) does it say that installing anything other than apple memory or hard disk or ssd void the warranty on all other aspects of the machine? Thanks for any help you can provide.
