how do i get a refund for unauthorised purchase...

how can i get a refund for unauthorised purchases made by my child?? tried customer services and they want me to email i would rather speak to someone thanks

Contact the iTunes Store as the previous poster advised. Note that refunds are not guaranteed, though they're often granted in the case of a purchase by a child.

 

To prevent this from happening again, go to the Restrictions settings in your iOS device and turn off "In App purchases" and the ability to install apps, and set the password to be required immediately. For more information, see:

My son has just spent £132.64 on despicable me minion rush.

I have in app purchases switched to off!! How can this happen when the restrictions are off.

I have contacted apple as he is only 7, so I am hoping they will refund me.

 

Is there anyway I can not have my card on file and have to enter card details when I want to purchase something?

You can do it but it's cumbersome. You need to edit your account details and select "none" for the payment method, and then go back to that same setting and enter in your credit card whenever you want to purchase something. It's probably best to just keep the restrictions set, including the option to require a password immediately.

 

Why it still allowed him to purchase when In-App Purchasing is supposedly turned off I can't say with any certainty. Have you confirmed that it is? Perhaps he found out your Restrictions passcode and managed to turn In-App Purchases back on?

Thank you for these two responses!  Why was this info so hard to find, and why isn't the purchasing ability diabled by default???  And that 15 minute password timeout is plenty of time to rack up a ton of unauthorized charges.



Hey I need help. What if my child knew my password, but I never authorized in-app purchases. She has racked up a 7,700$ bill in a year! Please help.

Purchases are considered final but you could try the 'report a problem' page to contact iTunes Support and see if they will refund or credit you : https://reportaproblem.apple.com

To try and stop it happening again, change the account's password of the child knows it, and use Settings > General > Restrictions  if using an iOS device, Restrictions tab if using a computer's iTunes



I got charged for something that I did not  authorize can u please refund my money ple
