Can you specify trusted device to send code to ...

Apple's 2-factor authentication seems has a very annoying new "feature": blasting a 6-digit code out to all trusted devices rather than one the user picks - as was the case in 2-step verification.  Did the Apple engineers who came up with this 'convenience' not realize that there are lots of families that share the same Apple ID and whose individual members don't want to be bothered every time another member tries to do something with iCloud?  Every time I log into iCloud - or access this forum - via my work computer (Windows 10 - not trusted), my wife and daughter get a popup on their screen with the 6 digit code.

Is there some setting that lets me pick the trusted device to send the code to?

You would have to delete all the other trusted devices from your account. The problem with doing that is the deleted devices would have trouble obtaining a code.

Apple IDs aren't meant to be shared. Each person should have their own ID.

Hi Eric, while you’re certainly right that Apple now wants everyone to have their own Apple ID, it certainly wasn’t the case long ago - kids couldn’t even get one!  Even now, sharing music and “find my iPhone” across Apple IDs isn’t as convenient across individual Apple IDs as it is with a single one.

Hi, I just noticed we couldn't add or modify Trusted devices anymore, is this new? I turned off 2-steps authorisation and enabled again and don't seem that option anymore, I personally prefer that one to verify log in and receive code coz it is faster than sms, also what if my primary trusted number is actually no signal (in oversea without roaming) then I have my another trusted device with, there comes handy with this feature...

please help me how to set up if it is still available...
